Our Work in Australia
ETF volunteers have the chance to represent ETF in various capacities, either in self-motivated applications (with appropriate oversight) or in an informal capacity at ETF-run events (e.g. Trivia Night, answering questions from the general public).
ETF offers student exchange programs, for its committed volunteers (generally university students) to undertake a short period of immersion in Timor-Leste, as an opportunity to develop skills and see first-hand the impact of ETF in the region, simultaneously contributing to maintaining regional partnerships and overseeing the schools under construction/completed.
ETF is always looking at new ways of increasing our impact on our community volunteers through opportunities such as attending and presenting at our regular Board meetings – professionally chaired and sat on by industry professionals; pathways are offered to sit alongside external experts on various Committees, including roles such as the Committee Secretary. There is regular engagement with corporate and industry mentors who engage with the entire ETF team on a regular basis, and internal training & development in critical skills such as public speaking, analytics, website development, marketing, event management and stakeholder engagement. Finally, ETF endures an alumni network of over a hundred past young leaders, in various industries and professions, but all with a passion for empowering disadvantaged youth through the opportunities opened through education.
